Our journey in AP2

Accounts Payable is the back bone of METRO Business. Over the last few years, we have successfully automated workflows for many crossfunctional teams (Country team, GBS team, METRONOM, Corporate, Local IT, External party). This tech intervention has also enabled reduced the overall turnaround time by approximately 30%, or even in more in some cases. The end result has always been a happy and collaborative, high performing team!

By the beginning of 2020, we were supporting BSC teams to reach their goals. Our goal is to reach automate the entire Accounts payable process in 3 countries by as much as 50%. This would not only make the process more time and cost effective, but also enable an evolving workforce. Working with people from diverse areas of expertise, multiple complex processes and the shifting IT landscape is challenging, but therein lies all the learning!

With the insights and learnings garnered from these projects, we at BSC team have co-created a way of working that enables:
